How do you guys repair the damage?
Depending on the type of damage, there are a number of ways to repair a bumper. If it's a severe crack, it's plastic welded. For large dents, if mendable, it is heated and reshaped to its original form. A typical repair involves sanding or stripping the damaged area, then primer is applied 2-3 times while hand sanding in between applications and is followed by wet sanding to get that smooth surface. Before the base coat is applied, the bumper is prepped with a strong adhesive material to ensure that the paint will have a lifetime adhesion. Lastly, a polyurethane clear coat is applied to protect the paint and to achieve the glossy look.
How do you guys match the paint color?
Every vehicle is designated with a specific paint code according to its make, model and year. Our software which is licensed by PPG paint has the reference or access to these colors. All we need to do is follow what the computer suggests.
How long does it take & how long do we have to wait before we can drive the car?
A typical repair takes approximately 1 ½ - 2 ½ hours. You may drive your car 15-20 mintues after the job is complete.
